Google confirmed targeted exploitation of CVE-2026-58704, a Pixel modem flaw that enables remote privilege escalation without user interaction. CISA added it to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog, while major incidents involving Liquid Network, LeakySensey, City Relay and Gyazo underscore how exposed infrastructure is being converted into access, data and money.
All supported Pixel devices are affected by CVE-2026-58704. Google described exploitation as limited and targeted, but the interaction-free attack path raises the urgency: supported devices should be updated immediately, and federal civilian agencies face a September 19 deadline.
Attackers exploited Liquid software to create 4,000 unbacked L-BTC and withdraw roughly $320 million in Bitcoin. LeakySensey assembled more than 87,000 compromised IP addresses into a residential proxy service, while exploited server flaws exposed sensitive City Relay data and 23.62 million Gyazo user records.

Editorial: Recommended Actions

01
PRIORITY
Apply Cisco’s emergency patches to every ISE and ISE-PIC appliance immediately. CVE-2026-76460 affects all configurations, has no workaround, and is under active exploitation; an unauthenticated attacker can gain full control of an affected appliance. CISA added the flaw to KEV and gave federal agencies three days to patch.
02
PRIORITY
Update every supported Google Pixel device immediately to remediate CVE-2026-58704. Attackers have exploited the modem logic flaw remotely without user interaction to escalate privileges, and all supported Pixel devices are affected. CISA added the vulnerability to KEV and requires federal civilian agencies to apply the fix by September 19, 2026.
03
PRIORITY
Upgrade ConnectWise ScreenConnect to version 26.6.5 and investigate affected environments for compromise. CVE-2026-84869 is reportedly spreading through worm-like attacks. JFrog Artifactory operators should also examine deployments for administrative compromise and malicious components because attackers are exploiting three unauthenticated flaws against the product.
04
PRIORITY
Deploy Microsoft’s September 2026 Windows updates to remediate CVE-2026-85880. The actively exploited ALPC heap overflow can let a local attacker escape AppContainer restrictions and elevate privileges to NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM, making prompt deployment important for Windows fleets.
05
PRIORITY
Install the patched release of The Events Calendar WordPress plugin immediately. CVE-2026-78006 and CVE-2026-78159 are both rated CVSS 9.8 and allow unauthenticated remote code execution through crafted comments; even comments awaiting moderation can trigger the vulnerable parsing paths.
