Cisco Secure Email Gateway zero-day CVE-2026-76519 is under active exploitation, giving unauthenticated attackers a path to root control. UTA0576 has also breached Ivanti Connect Secure appliances, including systems considered fully patched, while Palo Alto Networks has observed limited exploitation of a root-level PAN-OS flaw.
CVE-2026-76519 carries a CVSS score of 9.8 and lets a crafted email attachment write arbitrary files and execute commands as root. CISA added the flaw to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog, and Cisco warns that attackers may erase evidence after compromising vulnerable gateways.
UTA0576 used the Ivanti flaws for credential theft, exfiltration, reconnaissance and log tampering, making forensic review essential alongside updates. UAT-6275 is meanwhile exploiting CVE-2025-8088 in crafted WinRAR archives to penetrate government organizations across Central Asia and the CIS.

Editorial: Recommended Actions

01
PRIORITY
Update vulnerable Cisco Secure Email Gateway appliances to a fixed AsyncOS release immediately, then investigate them for compromise rather than treating patching as sufficient. CVE-2026-76519 is under active exploitation, carries a CVSS score of 9.8, and lets an unauthenticated attacker use a crafted email attachment to write arbitrary files and execute commands as root. Operators should account for possible evidence deletion during incident response; CISA has added the flaw to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog and required federal remediation by October 17.
02
PRIORITY
Install Ivanti’s CVE-2026-104935 updates now, run the Ivanti Integrity Checker Tool, and perform network and memory forensics on every Connect Secure appliance. UTA0576 exploited the authentication bypass for unauthenticated remote command execution, credential theft, exfiltration, reconnaissance, and log tampering, including against systems considered fully patched. Do not rely on the CVE fix alone: a separate privilege-escalation flaw used in the attack chain reportedly remains unpatched.
03
PRIORITY
Apply Palo Alto Networks’ remediation for CVE-2026-0322 and conduct forensic triage on affected PAN-OS systems. The company has observed limited exploitation, and an authenticated attacker with network access to the management interface can execute arbitrary code as root on affected PA-Series and VM-Series firewalls and Panorama deployments. CISA has added the vulnerability to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog and set an October 17, 2026 federal remediation deadline.
04
PRIORITY
Deploy Microsoft’s October 2026 Windows updates promptly, prioritizing CVE-2026-96951 across affected endpoints. Attackers are actively exploiting the CVSS 8.8 Windows Shell command-injection flaw to bypass Mark of the Web protections after users interact with crafted content, and CISA has placed it in the Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. The wider update addresses roughly 1,400 vulnerabilities, including dozens rated critical, so administrators should validate deployment coverage rather than limiting remediation to the zero-day.
05
PRIORITY
Remove Danfoss AK-SC355 and AK-SM 800 refrigeration controllers from direct internet exposure, identify obsolete deployments, and investigate unexpected temperature or defrost-cycle changes. Attackers reportedly exploited CVE-2025-41450, CVE-2025-41451, and CVE-2025-41452 at more than 400 French stores and elsewhere in Europe, raising refrigeration temperatures as high as 50°C and extending defrost cycles to conceal manipulation. Retail operators using remotely controlled refrigeration systems should treat anomalous maintenance activity as a potential security incident with physical-loss consequences.
